Vintage Marketplace

I was looking through the new Stampin' Up! mini catalog and the paper reminded me of some that I bought at Cat's Creations NSD Retreat last May.
The paper is the Vintage Marketplace line from Bazzil and I was inspired by the SU catalog to make these cards.

Animal Crackers Birthday cards

I used the Imaginisce Animal Crackers paper and embellishments that I used on the Birthday Bucket project to make some birthday cards to have on hand. Of course, the little moustache guys make them even cuter!

Bucket of Birthday Fun!

My daughter went to her friend's birthday party on New Year's Eve. She didn't have any ideas what to get her, so I suggested movie theater passes because they go to the movies a lot. We found this bucket of popcorn at the store, added paper shreds, candy, and scrapbook paper accents to dress it up.
I thought it turned out pretty cute!

We "moustache" you to be our Valentine!

This is the Valentine card I sent to my mother-in-law from the kids. We were at Six Flags and they bought these sunglasses with moustashes on them.
I just love the whole moustache craze. I looked everywhere for moustache suckers so I could attach a little tag that said "I moustache you to be my Valentine". I finally gave up when I realized my kids are too old for giving valentines to friends. That makes me so sad!
Today Garrison turns 12 and Meleah will be 16 on Saturday!

Valentines for OWH

I bought a sheet of paper from Authentinque's Lovely Greetings line from Cat's Creations. That one sheet of paper had about 12 vintage Valentine images on it that I was able to cut apart to make numerous cards with. I love it when I can find paper that I can use to make multiple, quick and easy cards for Operation Write Home. I always like to make things when I'm in the mood to make them, so these Valentines won't make it overseas this year, but I'll have them ready when Allison puts out the call for Valentines for OWH next year!
Submitted to Cat's Creations WOW! Wednesday Blog. Be sure and submit your creations, or comment on any submissions for a chance to win blog candy!

Valentine class

I had my Life Group ladies over Saturday for a Valentine making class. We made these cute cards and a little treat holder with Hershey's hugs and kisses. We had so much fun and they were so impressed with themselves! I think we're going to try getting together every other month or so to craft or make cards. I'm sure it will be no time before I have them hooked on stamping and ready to start scrapbooking!!

Quilling

I always look forward to my Mother-in-law's visits because we always take time to do some papercrafting. She gave me a quilling kit for Christmas, so we tried our hand at it while she was here.
I remember watching the Carol Duvall show and seeing someone do it and always wanted to give it a try. It's really tedious and not something you would do to quickly throw a card together, but it is really a lot of fun!

Chocolate Snowmen

We made a chocolate bar snowman at a Stampin' Up! workshop. I thought they were so cute, I just had to make some to give to teachers and staff at school. The big one uses a fuzzy toddler sock from Dollar Tree for the hat (you can get 2 from each sock). I made the hat for the miniature one by cutting the fingers off of a cheap pair of gloves. I was able to use a stamp from a SU stamp set (Cold Play) for the face on the mini one. I drew the face on the larger one.
Everyone had a fit over them and they were really quick and inexpensive to make.

Stamped tiles

I made these stamped tiles for the ladies in our Life Group. I made some additional designs and sold them at school. I used Stayzon ink and baked them for about 5 minutes to set the ink. I've also seen them done with pigment ink and ultra thick embossing enamel. That gives them a shiny, embossed look that is really neat, but I was trying to use what I had on hand.
